Privacy Policy

HideMy.pics ("the Service") is a web tool at hidemy.pics that lets you hide files inside ordinary-looking images.

What we collect

We do not require accounts. We do not build user profiles or maintain a database of your personal information.

The only ongoing data collection on the Service is through Google Analytics, a third-party analytics tool. Google may collect usage information such as pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate location derived from IP, and cookies or similar identifiers. That collection is performed by Google under its own policies — not by us directly. See Google's Privacy Policy. You can block analytics with browser settings or privacy extensions.

What we do not collect

We do not ask for your name, email address, or other contact details to use the Service. We do not sell or share personal information. We do not review or catalog the contents of files you process.

File processing

When you hide or reveal files, your browser sends images and any optional password to our servers over HTTPS solely to complete that request. This data is used for processing only and is not retained afterward, except as described below for optional features you choose to use.

Optional features

  • Share links: If you create a share link, the stego image is held temporarily so the link works. All share links expire after one hour. Read-once links are also deleted after the first download. Timed links allow unlimited downloads until the hour ends. Anyone with the link can access the file until it expires.
  • Email: If you use the email feature, the recipient address you enter is used only to deliver that message. It is not stored in a mailing list or user database.

Passwords

Optional passwords are transmitted over HTTPS and used only during the request in which they are submitted. They are not stored after processing completes.

Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13.

Security

We use HTTPS and reasonable measures to protect data in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You use the Service at your own risk.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy by posting a revised version on this page. The effective date above will change when we do. Continued use of the Service means you accept the updated policy.
